Having the same trouble here in Metro Detroit. Gmail is working though, as are a few other google owned sites, but search is definitely not working.

So what happens if you try to telnet to port 80 on those IP addresses?

ie,

telnet 64.233.167.104 80
telnet 64.233.167.147 80
telnet 64.233.167.99 80

If you can connect, just type "get" and you should get back a quick response and the connection will close.

If that all works it could be a cookie problem in your browser.

Both Mozilla and Google are working fine in NW IN. (I also get my feed from Chicago) so i dunno..why you guys can't.

Edit: Its probably a route problem on your headend or something along those lines.

What happens when you guys traceroute to those IPs? I can enter them into my browser; all of them bring up the google home page for me from the bay area.

I don't think that all of the posters in this thread share the same CMTS (Headend)..

It's been an ongoing intermittent problem for some. I've seen it myself multiple times, usually in the evenings out of the blue (couldn't access google.com but could access it by its IP address), but since switching to non-Comcast DNS have not seen it recur.
