I'm getting the same thing. Turned on the TVs a couple hours ago and the only channels I can get are the local non HD channels. Everything else says I'm not subscribed. Try to call in to their awful automated service and eventually it transfers me to a line with a busy tone.

I no longer have access to anything above channel 100. I tried to call tech support, but got a busy signal. I guess this is just a significant outage and the support number is just swamped at this point.

It's a national outage. Right now I have about 12 local channels that I can still watch, 1/3 of which is in Spanish (which I don't speak) and 1/3 of them are religious nonsense. This leaves me with almost nothing to watch since football is on today. Useless.

As for trying to call in and complaint: don't even bother. I waited on hold for 35 minutes only to talk to a guy who sounded like he was coked out of his gourd -- he told me that most of their support tools were down and that he'll be calling me tomorrow to arrange for a credit. I'm sure that'll happen.

This is yet another nail in the coffin for my U-Verse service...

I'm in the Dallas area and something is wrong for sure. I am getting all of the SD local channels, just a few of the SD non local channels, and a few HD like HDNET and ESPN. You are right; not looking good for the old UVERSE. I called 800 288 2020 a few times and went through voice the prompts to UVERSE tech. support and got busy signals.

Just thought I'd stop in to see how my fellow Beta Testers are handling the national outrage . . . er, outage.

Just got online and reading about uverse. Checked mine, out also.

Tech said might be a few more hours, but by saying that they probably don't know.

I was told to try later on in the day, press and hold the power button in for 10 seconds to see if the channels come back.

I asked if I didn't press, would they come on. Reply was
"don't know"

Just came back up here in Indianapolis. Interesting is that my internet never seems to have a problem whenever outages of tv happen. This is the worst outage on my tv service and have to consider a change now...just too much.

Of course, you might want to hold off the consideration for just a little bit more. Hope springs eternal, dontcha know?

Maybe this outage fixed some of the more repetitive and aggravating problems some of us -- like me, for instance -- griped and groaned about.

Believe me, I ain't sweet on U-verse. My posts show it. But, I still got this little nagging pinging in my ears that says maybe they'll still come through and get it right.

From what I understand, this was an unexpected outage that was caused by something going wrong on AT&T's end ... this wasn't an upgrade or anything like that.

How would that fix any of the issues we've had? Wishful thinking?

From what I have gathered it was an upgrade on the backend of this system. And it appears things did not go as planned.

This is first outage I have had since last november, when they botched another upgrade. This still makes it more reliable than my previous provider.

[/BQUOTE :

It may well be wishful thinking. Behind all my complaining beats the heart of an eternal optimist.

How would an unplanned (or botched upgrade] outage fix anything we complain about? Don't know, exactly. In addition to not knowing the technics of the restoration I also do not know the incidental repairs which may have been made in accomplishing the restoration.

Don't know whether it is fantasy or evidence, but sure seems like I've suddenly got a consistent volume level between low, middle and high channels where I did not have it before. Drove me nuts cranking up the sound for HBO and dialing it down for the local news. (Even the level between commercials and features seems more even.)

Picture seems better. Menu response seems faster. Haven't noticed any pixelation.

Won't know whether it is fact or imagination until I've fiddled with it and watched it for awhile.

I hope you're right. Removing the west coast feeds really pissed me off -- hopefully they'll make some improvements to the service before I just give up and cancel the damned thing.

What happened to the above thread? Did AT&T censored mistakenly deleted the thread?
