I am keeping my old Sony KV-1972R until the bitter end (and maybe beyond). Since I purchased it back in 1985, I have had to replace the speaker (1986), voltage regulator (1994) and just last year the flyback transformer (which burned out with a cloud of acrid smoke). It works fine with cable. -- I support the right to keep and arm bears. |

| Wow! I used to sell those wholesale at Bryce in NYC on 40th street. They sure last a good long time. They will continue to work with cable as long as the cable company does their job. -- "Understanding is a three-edged sword." |

| I have always been impressed with Sony hardware. Their TV's do manage to hold up a long time. Had I not had the talent to do the repairs myself I would have had to scrap it already since the cost for someone to fix it for me would have been more than picking up a cheapo replacement. -- I support the right to keep and arm bears. |

I sure it's a fine TV and I can understand not wanting to spend money when you don't have to... but even under the best of circumstances those 22 year old pixels can't be glowing the way they did when you first bought it.
Watching that thing has got to be brutal on the eyes by now. |
