| reply to cabana I watched the video the first time and I clapped afterword. Ironically, it was one of the best Lectures I have seen.
Goodbye Randy Pausch, you will be missed by many that knew, and many that didn't know who you were, but were inspired enough to think like you do. |

| reply to aztecnology I remember watching that lecture online after reading this thread, and I was quite inspired. I forwarded it on to several people who also had similar reactions.
He was handling his death better than many of us handle life. Much better than how I'd be handling it.

1 edit | reply to yock The Wiki was updated this morning:
"On July 25, 2008, it was announced by Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America that Randy Pausch had passed away the night before."
The servers for his blog and site seem to be down. I imagine it is from all of the hits and is a bit overloaded. I don't see anything on the AP yet, but there is no reason to believe the sad news is not true.

| reply to cabana I just watched the Randy Pausch special on TV.
Normally I would pass on the overly dramatic news stories that are really just vessels for commercials and ratings. But I knew I had to watch this one.

| reply to cabana Watch Primetime at 10:00pm, Wednesday, 4/9/08, for a story on Randy Pausch.
quote: Episode Detail: The Last Lecture---A Love Story for Your Life - Primetime Diane Sawyer profiles Randy Pausch, a 47-year-old Carnegie Mellon University computer scientist with pancreatic cancer whose September 2007 "last lecture" (titled "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams") was seen by millions on the Internet. Pausch discusses how he has spent his time since, and how his illness has focused his mind. Sawyer also interviews Pausch's family, and gets reactions to Pausch's message.
