·Verizon FiOS
| Speculation... Well.. what would be groundbreaking is parity of the speed/pricing network-wide... This would mean that those crappy cable companies pumping out 3-16 megabits are gonna get IT smashed right over their heads.. A net gain for Verizon, net upgrade headache for the cable companies.
Generally the cheapest pricing is in the NY metro where broadband is cheaper... but bringing it foot-print wide would be groundbreaking. Yeah, a pipe dream.. it will probably be something less spectacular such as increased / symmetrical speeds in their most competitive markets or commitment to upgrade to GPONS in 20/5 30/5 50/10 markets. 20/20, 30/30, 50/50? (suggested pricing.. $35, $45, $85) Nah...
** Or, something as simple as offering VOIP as a bundle option and finally competing apples to apples.
Aside from these, I can't think of much else that would help the FIOS product from being more competitive. Other than *significant* price reductions / significant increases in speed.
The public and cable co's wait with baited breath.

 | reply to tmc8080 I'm going to lean toward a 20/20, 30/30, and 50/30 tier announcement. |
