| Re: Still Almost Tripple Digits to my Embarq Gateway.I don't know the topology of the Embarq service from CPE to aggregation router; but DSL is capable of better: I suspect a lot is dependent upon your distance from the DSLAM, and the condition of the plant. If your plant is subject to line conditions that destabilize DSL, they will put you on Interleaved data path, which trades low latency for stability (by allowing for more reliable error correction).
In my neighborhood, they just reconditioned the line for U-Verse (IPTV over copper pair). Even so, I have always been on Fast data path. I don't know what it would be like, though, if I was out in the hills around here. (A lot of which is covered by Verizon, instead of AT&T.)
