Given the name of that URL (verizonwebcasts.com/2020), it is probably the announcement of the 20/20 symmetrical service. Oh well.

Good observation but I still have to believe there is more to this. Something to really kick the cable companies in the teeth. Since Cablevision offers more than just bandwidth for their top tier service, VZ will need to do the same or better to attract those customers.

It will be the 20/20 package, because I can order it online right now for $64.99/month which if you need the upstream speed is a darn good price.

Hehe

@ssa.gov

I want that so bad! But no FIOS on my street yet.
But I did see some black coiled wire on a pole yesterday. Looks new. I can only hope!

And at 11:33 EDT am in Maryland, 20/20 is NOT available on the verizon web site.

Wait, the site just went "unavailable" OK, guess we need to wait until 2 PM to confirm.

I was able to see it online yesterday but only as a change to my exisiting service. It was not on the front page when you check your number.

Yep, its the 20/20 "Symmetrical Tier" service. Available only in NY, NJ, and CT. There is also a new "High-speed Tier" of 50Mbps/5Mbps.

And the usual "Mid-Tier" 20/5 and "Standard Tier" 10/2.

Notice the lack of 5/2.

5/2 is a Time Warner, NYC tier
