DNS has a purpose. Returning a failure code for a non existent domain is a requirement for DNS. Verizon breaks this. |

The only acceptable solution is to provide an option of DNS that works correctly for customers who need it. The "web only" people can default to the false-results scam and those who prefer true DNS would be given an address of an un-tampered DNS server. |

Would you feel any better about this if the "DNS tinkering" only kicks in on queries for names that begin with 'www.' and are of the 'A' record type? |
