An error message or what happens when she tries to log on might be useful

RE the downloaded files - don't try and use them via AOL, just browse to where you put them and run them from there. E.g if it's a PDF file, just double click it to open it. If it's an image - double click it to view it. Basically don't use the AOL download manager to try and use the downloaded files

Try the following steps on your AOL .
copy and Restore the Personal Filing Cabinet (PFC) to Another Computer

A. Copy the PFC
B. Restore the PFC

A. Copy the PFC

1.Click the Mail menu, and then click Mail Settings.

2.Click the Manage Saved Mail button, and then click Backup.

3.Click the Backup Now button.

4.On the AOL® toolbar, click the Write icon.

5.In the Send To: box; type the screen name you wish to transfer the PFC to. In the Subject: box, type Filing Cabinet, then click the Attach File button.

6.Click the Look In: drop-down menu to open it, click the C:\ drive. In the window below the drop-down menu, double-click the Documents and Settings folder.

Note: If you are using Windows® 9X or Windows ME should double-click the Windows folder.

7.Double-click the All Users folder, double-click the Application Data folder, double-click the AOL® folder, double-click the America Online folder with the most recent date, double-click the Backup folder, select your screen name, then click the Open button.

8.Click the Send Now icon.

Note: Upload time will depend on connection speed and the size of the PFC. It is likely to take several minutes to upload and an equal amount of time to download onto the other computer. If you are able to copy the file to an external media source (i.e., a Zip disk, external hard drive, or onto a CD) as a means of file transfer, it will save a great deal of time.

B. Restore the PFC

1.Sign on to the AOL® service as you normally would using the computer to which you are transferring your PFC. On the AOL toolbar, click the Read icon.

2.Select the e-mail with the subject Filing Cabinet, and then click the Read button.

3.Click the Download button, and then click Download Now. If prompted, click the Yes button.

4.Click the Look In: drop-down menu to open it, click the C:\ drive. In the window below the drop-down menu, double-click the Documents and Settings folder.

Note: If you are using Windows 9X or Windows ME, double-click the Windows folder.

5.Double-click the All Users folder, double-click the Application Data folder, double-click the AOL folder, double-click the America Online folder with the most recent date, double-click the backup folder, select your screen name, then click the Open button.

Note: If the Application Data folder is not showing in this window, click the Tools or View menu along the top, and then click Options or Folder Options.... Click the View tab, choose the Show All Files option by clicking it, and then click the OK button.

6.Click the Mail menu, and then click Mail Settings.

7.Click the Manage Saved Mail drop-down menu, then click Restore.

8.Click the Yes button.

9.Click the Yes button.
