Well honestly i dont believe in speed test anymore... just seconds ago i was downloading some torrents... i was gettin 1.9 MB/s which is what? 15 Mbps? and then i just did few different speed tests ... i got only 7-8 Mbps on it which is actually the lowest i ever seen... 
One night i was gettin constant 2.0-2.5 MB/s on a torrent tho... and at one time it reached 2.9 MB/s but only for few sec.
edit: p.s. my laptop is not even tweaked for better bandwidth ... |

Your not going to see Fios in CT. UVerse perhaps. why not? Because Verizon doesn't provide phone service in most parts of CT. They may offer Fios in the small area of CT that they provide phone service but thats it. |

p.s. i reached my new download speed record.It was already downloading for 5 mins or so, so its not speed burst (i dont think it works for bittorent tho). So 2.9 MB/s ...

p.s. thats using remote utorrent plugin, Webui... so maybe there is some inaccuracy, but most likely its correct, also pc is old so sometimes it cant handle speeds. I think i can reach 3.0MB/s on my newest pc with some bandwidth tweaks...
Dear cox just give me 5-10 mbps upload even for extra 5-10 a month and i'll be happiest internet user in da world ...

Doubt it. Remember - the data portion of Uverse is still DSL. Combine that with cramming TV (and a single HDTV stream) down that tiny pipe, and you're looking for trouble. |

Its UVerse in CT not Fios. Its still the same speeds in CT just with a different description. It is p to 15 mbps with up to 20 mbps with powerboost. |

Time to call Cox. And wait till fios comes to me next year. I will be taking the 20/20 connect if they roll it out here which I am sure they will do.

well last time i was checkin for fios... it was not available in my area. If u check fios map in ct... its only around ny border.... the rest of ct has no fios.
so i dont kno why cox is increasing down speeds in ct, because i c no competition over here. Maybe cuz we r one of the oldest and richest states in usa... ? |

The sole reason why the rest of us don't see it is because of competition. This has been discussed in various places.
If you live in a certain neighbourhood that offers FIOS then boom, enjoy it.
Don't let the caps byte you on the ass on the way out, though.
