| Xplornet & Xbox Live services Just spreading the word here...We've had Xplornet since Jan/07, the lowest plan. Have been using Xbox Live, playing online games since then. As of Oct 18/07, suddenly unable to participate in online gaming. We hadn't changed any settings here, Xbox Live console showed all connections good, NAT "open". Finally found out Telesat is blocking port 3074, which is required for Xbox Live gaming. Can still access Xbox Live, message, chat, and download, just can't play the games with others. (Yup, Halo 3, biggest online gaming sensation to hit the planet and Telesat blocks it..as well as all the other interactive gaming.) This info came from an Xplornet tech, that port 88 is open but 3074 is being blocked by their "supplier". Xplornet is unable/unwilling to do anything about it. Online port checks at canyouseeme.org and grc Shields Up show this port as open, but obviously stuff isn't passing through. Xbox Live needs UDP and TCP going through this port for the gaming to work. Not a happy customer. Telesat is blocking a service from Microsoft that we're paying for and not getting. I've notified Microsoft, also gave some (polite)feedback to Xplornet. Maybe if enough people respond, the powers that be will be motivated to fix this. |
