Well I tried searching on both Google and here, so my apologies if this is similar to other issues. Here is my tracert from earlier today:

Aside from the first jump with the router, and I did try it WITHOUT, the results are the same. What prompted me to be concerned was playing CS:S, my average pings for the last 4 months have been 40's. However, starting last week, they have been around 90-100. Also, general internet browsing, youtube videos, etc seem to take much much longer.
Any suggestions or tips? I've tried basic troubleshooting that I'm familair with, so I seem to have reached an impass. |

Something to that effect was in the test, just adding that on for any other input someone can provide.
I'm expecting that the best I can do is just sit and wait. Not suggesting my service isn't what I'm paying for now, but just hoping things would get back to the way they were before someone tripped on the power cord |

| reply to jzoom6 Having the exact same problem in Daytona Beach through brighthouse/rr as well. Started the day before yesterday. I've since switched to my dsl line since ~100 ping to NYC is horrible, but I remember my tracerts being similar with the Dallas hops being inconsistant and timing out and other times just adding 50ms. |

@rr.com | reply to jzoom6 I am also having the same issues as mentioned above.
The ping times have improved yet the download and upload speeds are still horrible when downloading or uploading from/to the New York area. |

| It's been mentioned here before, dropped ping packets from a Level 3 router (or any router, for that matter) is nothing out of the ordinary. It doesn't mean anything is particularly wrong, it just means that specific router has pings set on a very low priority.
According to the first traceroute, 80 ms pings from Florida to New York aren't bad...not great...but not too bad. If anything, I would blame the increased ping times as a result of the path it took: Orlando to Dallas to Atlanta then up the East Coast. The trip from Orlando to Dallas then back to Atlanta will add to the ping times a bit. |

| reply to jzoom6 I have had speed issues for the last two weeks. The connection has not died but trying to watch Youtube or anything that has videos even low quality are hard to do. The speeds average about 30 Kilo bytes down and spike up to 150Kilobytes. In other words buffering every 5 seconds. As soon as I hit one of their local speed tests its 10mbit so they say there is nothing they can do. These websites were working perfect 2 weeks ago and they are still working perfectly for a friend down the road on bright house... any ideas? |

| Same exact problem here guys. Just letting everyone know, it's not you, I just had my modem replaced and this is still happening. Also, it seems worse on some sites than others, would you guys mind going to speedtest.net and running a test on the orlando server? My results are pretty embarassing to say the least.

My speed test results are back up. But general web surfing still sucks. Cant break more than about 100K from youtube or others where I would normally get 7000 easy. |

| reply to jzoom6 Something absolutely is up in cfl.rr.com...as in WRONG. Sometime after 10/21, but on or before 10/24, my dl speed from the Orlando speedtest.net server dropped to around 1000kbps, often only 3 digits. Speed from Atlanta is 8000+.
I called tech support. They are idiots. Kept wanting to send somebody out. Obviously, since all is fine from Atlanta, my equipment is working fine. They could not comprehend that. How frustrating. |

@bellsouth.net | reply to jzoom6 Agree, ever since then my roadrunner has been way slower than usual. I didn't notice it as much for web browsing but ping times were abysmal and upload was cut in half. I'm starting to wonder if I should start shopping for a new ISP. |

| reply to jzoom6 Thanks for the heads up guys. I too have noticed this. I just had my router give out and bought a new one and thought it may be that but this confirms it is not. I am getting like 450 dl and 350 up which is honestly ridiculous. It feels like dial up days again. I just got off the phone with RR and they say there is no outage currently. If this continues much longer I may consider DSL as I think (could be wrong) that they have dropped the contract requirement (stay for 12 months or else). |

Is there any way to get money back from RR when they don't provide the level of service you pay for? |
