Yes, I have the card and a set of Creative Labs P7800 7.1 speakers and it supports them NATIVELY. Creative uses special plugs that have 3 rings and 1 tip on two of the three speaker out connectors, that is how they get the side channels. So, for analogue setups you need Creative Labs speakers OR to get ahold of these special 3.5mm jacks and make your own cluster cable. Creative, stupidly, does not sell the cable by itself evidently.
This card will accept a front bay "drive" device if you can find one, too.
