Re: Orlando Brighthouse slowdown It's been mentioned here before, dropped ping packets from a Level 3 router (or any router, for that matter) is nothing out of the ordinary. It doesn't mean anything is particularly wrong, it just means that specific router has pings set on a very low priority.
According to the first traceroute, 80 ms pings from Florida to New York aren't bad...not great...but not too bad. If anything, I would blame the increased ping times as a result of the path it took: Orlando to Dallas to Atlanta then up the East Coast. The trip from Orlando to Dallas then back to Atlanta will add to the ping times a bit. |
