<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/1147610"><b>cableties</b></A> : ...in ten years, we'll be cleaning up this mess of private holdings that buy up firms, chop them, and resell much like the garbage we see on HGTV with cheap-fixes to sell to unwary speculators in the name of a "short term" gain.<br><br>Oh well. I won't miss Covad. Them and a few others were peddling DSL to small businesses a few years back and were getting shaft from Bell-um Verizon for Loop tests ($150/per test). Too bad the database at Verizon wasn't, um, up to date and Covad got hit with a test loop fee, even though there was no CO with 18000' of the prospective client.  :o<br><br>I think we should just start shoddy businesses, make them look great (hire someone from Trading Spaces!) and resell to highest paying private equity firm! Look! It's a steal!  :p]]></description>
