kudos:1 | It's not necessarily the end of the world I looked at the list of Platinum Equity acquisitions. The one that stood out immediately was US Robotics. I Googled '"US Robotics" layoffs' and found more news about Earthlink's recent layoffs than any layoffs USR might have had since the acquisition. I did similar research for a few other companies on the list. Again, no mention of layoffs. Either they're covering their tracks very well, or they aren't a 'pillage and burn' equity outfit.
I'm very wary of this, for all the reasons the doomcriers [who are generally right] have stated above, but it doesn't look like it's going to be snowing pink at Covad any time soon. |
