Re: PRIVATEphone too? ? said by NJxxxJon:DAMMIT! does this include.... www.privatephone.com ? ? ? ? ? Privatephone appears to be part of the Netzero Voice feature set. So, while the Netzero Voice termination FAQ doesn't specifically mention Privatephone, my guess is that Privatephone will be discontinued as well.
You might want to checkout »www.grandcentral.com to replace Privatephone. |

I never really used my PrivatePhone but sure the hell would like to keep my number...225-7878 PrivatePhone's website always looked so cluttered and ugly and full of flashing and gyrating ads.
AIM Phone Line works exactly the same as PrivatePhone and I trust AOL more than I do Netzero....not as much spam, better looking websites...and I already have a scree name/email account so I don't have to bother with managing yet another useless webmail account just so I could use PrivatePhone. -- »PropertyMaps.com - Real-time, map based, nationwide MLS property search! |

That being said, Grandcentral is great for a virtual number. |

So, while the Netzero Voice termination FAQ doesn't specifically mention Privatephone, my guess is that Privatephone will be discontinued as well. I read over the FAQ and I am not too sure that PrivatePhone will go away. NetZero voice provided an add-on service to allow call forwarding and dialout. However, I have the most basic version of PrivatePhone that forwards all calls to voicemail and has no dialing options. As that feature is independent of NetZero voice I suppose it might be able to survive. I am kind of surprised that NetZero has not clarified this. -- I support the right to keep and arm bears. |
