Vote for Ron Paul in the Republican Primaries |
|
 | said by laserjobs:Why would someone do this unless they were trying to create truth to a lie to smear Ron Paul? Maybe because many of Paul's supporters are over the top fanatics who are somewhat crazy and have made use of the internet their platform to flack for their candidate. |

dynodbPremium,VIP join:2004-04-21 Minneapolis, MN | reply to laserjobs It's hardly a secret that the cultish supporters of the Bircheresque Crank regularly spam polls and engage in other such overly obsessive behavior in support of their looney suject of worship Ron Paul.
This would hardly be unusual amongst his base of conspiracy theorist, white supremicist band of college kid supporters.
One doesn't really need to bother inventing stories about his supporters; there's also no reason to bother considering that he has absolutely zero chance of winning.
I now await the typical Ron Paul supporter response, which typically involves calling his detractors facist socialist neocons |

I'm not white, nor am I a conspiracy theorist, but I support Ron Paul. I'm educated and understand good fiscal responsibility and the Constitution.
One doesn't really need to bother inventing stories about his supporters; there's also no reason to bother considering that he has absolutely zero chance of winning. You just invented a story about his supporters (namely that they're white supremacist kids). Quite the loon you are.

 | reply to dynodb said by dynodb:there's also no reason to bother considering that he has absolutely zero chance of winning. In past Presidential elections, I've voted for the candidate that I liked best among the two who were the most likely to win. I thought that supporting a third party candidate was a stupid waste of a vote. Now, however, I've decided that it's not stupid and it's not a waste of a vote. In fact, it's the best use of a vote that one can make. By voting for someone who shares your ideals better regardless of that person's chances of winning, you:
1 - Don't contribute your support to a candidate you don't like.
2 - Make it more likely that the candidate you support might actually be elected. (Small effect, sure, but imagine if everyone dissatisfied with Republicans and Democrats voted third party!)
3 - Make it likely that the winning candidate will adopt your preferred candidate's position. (When a third party candidate wins >10% of the vote, the major parties listen and adopt their messages to keep their dominant positions.) |
