It's hardly a secret that the cultish supporters of the Bircheresque Crank regularly spam polls and engage in other such overly obsessive behavior in support of their looney suject of worship Ron Paul.
This would hardly be unusual amongst his base of conspiracy theorist, white supremicist band of college kid supporters.
One doesn't really need to bother inventing stories about his supporters; there's also no reason to bother considering that he has absolutely zero chance of winning.
I now await the typical Ron Paul supporter response, which typically involves calling his detractors facist socialist neocons |

| reply to dynodb said by dynodb :there's also no reason to bother considering that he has absolutely zero chance of winning. In past Presidential elections, I've voted for the candidate that I liked best among the two who were the most likely to win. I thought that supporting a third party candidate was a stupid waste of a vote. Now, however, I've decided that it's not stupid and it's not a waste of a vote. In fact, it's the best use of a vote that one can make. By voting for someone who shares your ideals better regardless of that person's chances of winning, you:
1 - Don't contribute your support to a candidate you don't like.
2 - Make it more likely that the candidate you support might actually be elected. (Small effect, sure, but imagine if everyone dissatisfied with Republicans and Democrats voted third party!)
3 - Make it likely that the winning candidate will adopt your preferred candidate's position. (When a third party candidate wins >10% of the vote, the major parties listen and adopt their messages to keep their dominant positions.) |

| Excellent advice! I've said this same thing yet in a different way; if someone always votes for the lesser of two evils, then they have no right to complain when all they get is evil.
I'm not going to throw my vote away anymore by voting AGAINST who I don't want to win. That is why we keep staying in this situation. We shouldn't let hatred be our guide... look where it has gotten us. :| |

Ron Paul is not going to run as a third party candidate.
Anyway, anything could happen. The most recent St. Anselm poll in New Hampshire has him at 7% for the primary. -- "Independent thinkers tend to ALWAYS have someone Not agreeing with them. It's The non-thinkers that ALWAYS come in legions." -John Callari |

I think it quite likely that he will run third party- he's already proved that he's incapable of being embarrassed, and he's hinted at the possibility in the past.
And more respected polling organizations- like Rasmussen- have Paul at 1-2% in NH. He'll probably do a bit better than that in the primaries due to the slavish devotion of his supporters, but it won't be enough to have an impact. |

I think it quite likely that he will run third party- he's already proved that he's incapable of being embarrassed, and he's hinted at the possibility in the past. He's stated repeatedly that he has no plans to run third party.

He'll probably do a bit better than that in the primaries due to the slavish devotion of his supporters, but it won't be enough to have an impact. Rasmussen reports results that are pretty consistently off the mark in national polls compared to, say, Gallup. Gallup isn't doing state-by-state polls, unfortunately. With the general low attendance of primaries, it seems like primary polls aren't as accurate as general election polls. For example, two weeks prior to the 1996 primary, Buchanan was polling just 11%, yet won the primary. Ron Paul has undoubtedly the most passionate supporters, much like Buchanan did, so there could be a January Surprise. -- "Independent thinkers tend to ALWAYS have someone Not agreeing with them.
