on an aside, this past month, Comcast ended a promo-period rate i had for broadband, because i now am.. and i quote "In a Verizon FiOS Service Area"
this is not true, and was confirmed by Verizon, as they haven't run the fiber yet.... but... what business is it of Comcast's?

You've been waiting 2 years? I've been waiting since 2002 or 2003 when they were still in the planning stages. Luckily for me they went live here last month, and my install date is set for 11/20. You'll get it eventually, don't worry.

Installing FIOS is not just a matter of wiring up the area they also need to connect to the backbone.
I assume decision to deploy FIOS is a complex mix of business, engineering and manpower planning.

| Out here in the Boonies  this area is supposed to eventually get FiOS, But no idea of when, At least this area can't be sold off like Maine, As Barstow CA is too important for their West Coast to East Coast operations to sell off.
