 | Another non-issue Most likely this was from some spambot that planted some spyware on a Paul supporter PC somewhere and used that info to generate the spam. It's pretty common practice nowadays and people who don't run good anti-spyware software tend to be the victims.
As for UAB, they have no clue about what they are saying. I have no idea if it came from a Paul supporter, a supporter for another candidate, or from someone else entirely. But to accuse the Paul campaign or its supporters of this without any evidence to back it up is scurrilous and fallacious. I think all we're seeing here is just another spam bomb by a botnet trying to capitalize on a popular topic on the Net. So what else is new? All that says is that if Dr. Paul's campaign is so big it's now causing spambot mail, then that's a compliment to the success the campaign is having.
If this is being done by anti-Paul people, the next thing will be a phishing attempt in Dr. Paul's name, spoofing the web site, etc. You heard it here first. (And no, I'm not technically savvy enough and not morally bankrupt to do such a thing!) |
