| What regions? Just curious, I've been in the NYC area since '95 or so and have lived in a number of apartments. Never came across one where there was an exclusivity deal. In fact I'm now in my second place that let me throw a dish up on the roof.
Is this more common in new construction in more remote/suburban areas?
Just seems odd to me... here it's clearly not a renter's market, but we don't seem to have this restriction. -- with every mistake we must surely be learning |

| They are very common here in SC and now home owners associations are jumping on the band wagon. Typical of any utility, if they don't get their way it could lead to rate hikes. One year they will find out rate hikes will lead to customers shutting the products off. I got tired of it, disconnected all services and my TV makes an excellent DVD monitor. |

The way the exclusive deal works is you pay for the service with home owner dues to the association. Put up a dish no problem you just pay for two services. |
