ISDN testing question

We are thinking about getting ISDN for our home and I called my Verizon office (we are in NH) and set up a "loop qualification" test. They said it would take up to 30 days for them to get the results and they would call us to let us know if we are eligible to get it or not. Does anyone know what exactly they do for this testing? I'm just wondering why it takes so long to get the results. Thank you for your help!

To me, it sounds like they are putting you off. When I got ISDN through Ameritech, they told it would take 2 weeks. In reality, it took a month and I had to bug the living crap out of them. They should know when you call whether you can get ISDN service. They do have to have a pair available and they have to unload it, but I'm not sure what kind of testing they are going to be doing.

I had Verizon ISDN, but they didn't tell us about the tiny little fact that "we charge 2 cents a minute when your connected", so when we got the $4,000 bill, we canceled fast and made them give us refund.

Make sure your pocketbook is ready for the 2 cent a minute charge.. lol.
