Re: [Help Me] Best Wireless N USB adapter for DIR-655?

If I would try to compare DWA-130 and 142 without having seen the 130, I would prefer the DWA-142 as it is a MIMO adapter and has an excellent range and speed.

DWA-130 may have the same speed but not the range of the DWA-142. With both Windows (Vista/XP)I get Speeds up to 9 MByte/s in a distance of 10m (30ft ? ) and one wall.

9 MByte/s with DIR-655 ! With DIR-635 it is about 6,5 MByte/s.

Sorry I meant to compare the DWA-142 and DWA-130 which were the products available here in USA market...

I'm curious why D-Link doesnt have a XTREME N wireless USB adapter?

The latest ralink works best. It's more stable than the versions before.

If you want the d-Link Tool, the latest 1.30eu driver on the Swedish d-link ftp is the same version:

I own 2 DWA-142 and they work very well with DIR-655 but they are connected with a cable and not as handy as a USB-stick.

140 is very fast indeed, why do you assume the 142 is better? just because its the US version (which you can buy in EU too btw...)?

In Europe D-Link has the DWA-140 on the market.
It has a Ralink 11N chipset and works very fast with DIR-655 and DIR-635.

Don't know whether you can order it in the USA.
