I heard that in the third quarter state-of-the company talk Embarq does with investors, it said that they would be spending $150-$300 million on increasing bandwidth for HSI. I don't know over how long a time frame this is happening. I will see if I can find a link or news story about this... -- DSLr Mafia Member. |

I'm glad to see Embarq doing this; with their planned 100% coverage by the end of 2010, bandwidth should be a top priority for them.
I just hope that Embarq will keep nearly 100% of their territory up to date, too. |

 | reply to Fox McCloud Not sure where you picked up this info, but I don't see 100% coverage happening. It just wouldn't be cost effective, being that some of their customers live in Wyoming. |

I was told this by someone who posted here on the forums and I confirmed it (I didn't even asked he just casually mentioned it on conversation) by speaking with an Embarq tech in person.
Embarq has a lot less territory to cover than a lot of other companies...though, personally, I think they'll have problems attaining 100% coverage.
I'm just going by what was said. (especially when 2 sources said the same exact thing, basically). |

JennBeat It, BillPremium join:2000-08-22 Gone | reply to Jenn I gave up on embarq and had comcrap installed today, doubt if it will be any better but maybe, just maybe I can stay connected longer than half an hour. Been a pain in the ass with my connection always dropping in the middle of doing something. |
