Re: Ads Ads and More Ads

I'll wait to see what the phones are like and how the early adopters rate the intrusion of ads, but if Google does anything right it is to NOT become offensive with their ads.

When I had my Treo the mobile Gmail app didn't even show ads. I don't know how they will change things up for this, but if I can stay on the much superior Verizon network, get a phone for a reasonable price and pay a reasonable fee to use it I will put up with a few ads.

A data plan with the V monster is $80 a month. If Goo can cut that down or out and NOT saturate me with ads then I will give it a try.

We need to wait for details of the plan, but Goo knows that people don't want to pay big money for ads. Look at their Premium version of Apps for your Domain. No ads and only $50 a year per user. When Goo charges the first thing they do is drop ads inside the service. That makes me think that something here is going to be free. Buy the phone, but the data plan is free. Free phone, reduced data plan cost. Or how about free phone, free data plan just pay for your voice service.
