[Scam] Blogger exposes credit card cross-selling scams

A blogger exposes what this kind of scam is, and how it works.
Basically, a third party has an aftermarketing agreement with
a site you normally would want to buy something from, and
uses deceptive means to redirect you to their unwanted offer,
also passing your credit card information on as well. One of
the most notorious companies using this shady practice is
WLI Reservation Rewards, which has been mentioned before in
this forum.

(Note: this article was also posted to Slashdot, and one
person there said the blog entry was little more than an
ad for Shopsafe, a service which it claims can help
prevent cross-selling fraud. But it does bring up some
important points about using a credit card online.)
