Comcast Arris TM402P Web Configure

I have a Comcast Arris TM402P.
I want to get into my modem to configure port forwarding.
Someone please tell me what the default address, UN and Password is to get into it?

Thank you.

Port forwarding is not done in one's modem. It is done in one's home networking router.

Are you, or are you not behind a home networking router ?

If not, maybe you are referring to the *opening* of ports in a software firewall (third party, or Windows built in) that is installed on your computer ?

Checking port 28487 on 71.195.223.12...
Error! Port 28487 does not appear to be open

I have a DSL line a Comcast Arris TM402P and my computer attached to it. I want to open port 28487, redirect it to my computer.

Thanks.

ps: i do not have any software firewall running.

Do you have a wireless router at all connected to it? It's a cable line, not DSL if it's hooked to a comcast arris modem

DSL? Comcast ARRIS?

The ARRIS is not a user configurable device - there are no ports you can open.

It is a modem and an eMTA. There are no router like functions or settings involved.

Ah ha! Torrents on Comcast are currently a headache!
That ARRIS does not have anything you can open or adjust, period. Sorry!

Here, have a look at this thread about Comcast, Sandvine and torrents:
»Comcast is using Sandvine to manage P2P Connections

One last time friend, No user configurable settings on this device. Sorry.

There are no ports to open. It is not a router.

A modem is not a router. What you have stated as having is a modem/eMTA - not a router.

There is nothing that you can do to it.

Here: »Comcast High Speed Internet FAQ »What ports does Comcast block?

EDIT: From the ARRIS Support page:
»ts.arrisi.com/cgi-bin/arrisi.cfg···opview=1

Question

How can I configure the modem to forward or open some ports to connect to the Internet with a few of my games?

Answer

All ARRIS modems will pass all port traffic unless provisioned to block ports by your cable operator or your service provider.

For further assistance, please contact your service provider regarding this issue.

I am curious dadkins. I'm not familiar with that device. Can the status/signal levels of the modem be viewed via the typical 192.168.100.1 addy ?

Touchstone Telephony Modems are all different according the MSO. Touchstone Telephony Modems are not end user configurable and are preloaded and controlled remotely via SNMP or TFTP by the MSO.

I have a question, I have the Arris TM-402G and I was wondering if there was a way to open the ports on it. If not could I run a lan into a router from the Arris one into my computer and open the ports of the alternative router? I ask because when I download torrents I only get about 30KB/s or worse.
