Re: Best Coffee Maker? My brother has one of these »www.tassimo.com/tassimo/country_···tor.html
Basically this belongs to a class of coffee maker called "pod type coffeemakers"
Of the different brands I've seen of these, the Tassimo is pretty much the best supported of the lot. It was co-developed by Braun and Kraft Foods.
Anyway, if you are looking for something that can make you an espresso, a cafe au lait, a cappucino, a cafe crema, a hot chocolate or a regular coffee in under two minutes a cup at a time with minimal cleanup, then one of these would work for you.
Caveat is that the average cup of coffee costs between 30 cents and 80 cents each depending on what type you make yourself.
They're great for people who don't drink a lot of coffee, but enjoy an occasional cup of something exotic. Pods (cartridges) are available at most dept. stores and supermarkets and generally sell in boxes of 10 or 12 for about $4 to $5.
On the other hand if you're like me and just like to leave a pot on for a few hours and drink regular coffee, then you might like what I use...

It's quite well built and has a novel dispensing design with no conventional coffee pot. Instead it uses a tank with a gravity feed to dispense coffee from a bottom valve. Mine's been working fine for me for about a year now. -- So... WHEN exactly does Hell freeze over anyway? »fuzzyrat.com |
