Short of piping water to a machine, this unit holds the next water charge, hot, in it's tank, ready to go.
What really sold me is dependability .. we've used one at work a long time in a 24/7 environment. Cannot begin to estimate the -thousands- of pots that unit has produced .. all flawlessly. I had to have one for home.
edit: Well, after stating I couldn't begin to estimate number of pots per year .. heck, I jerked off my shoes and, combined with my fingers .. it works out to, conservatively:
12 hour shifts = 6 pots per shift
x 2 (24 hours) = 12 pots per day
x 365 days = 4380 pots per year .. 'round about.
