| reply to bloodthirster I was on 3M before I was bumped to 5M. I had no problems achieving 90%+ of my download speed in the recent past but it seems this fall I'm lucky if I hit 3M on my 5M line. Previously had no problems no matter the time but nights are lagging something awful as of late. |

1 edit | reply to bloodthirster Bloodthirster, Are you routed through Bay City? I've seen very slow speeds starting last week during the prime time. My experience has been downloads in the area of 1MB - 2MB. I use the Charter speedtest site in Bay City and have been experiencing real slow speeds all of a sudden.
Let me know what CBN Tech finds out. Curious if it is related or not.
Thanks,
Greg.
OBTW, I live 7 miles west of Flint.

@charter.com
| Hi... I'm in Davison on Charter with 10mb and I am experiencing the same issue.
Upload is fine, download seems to be pegged at about 1mb for extended periods.
I just got off the phone with tech support for about an hour doing various test... they think my cable modem is bad?!?
Here are my results:
running 10s outbound test (client to server) . . . . . 1.04Mb/s
running 10s inbound test (server to client) . . . . . . 1.77Mb/s
I was about to pull the trigger on a new modem, but it sounds like others are having the same issue. |

| Here are the readings from my modem:
Downstream Value Frequency 747000000 Hz Locked Signal to Noise Ratio 39 dB Power Level 5 dB
Upstream Value Channel ID 1 Frequency 31008000 Hz Ranged Power Level 39 dBmV
Now my question is, if I supposedly talked with "second level" support, where do I go now... this has been irritating me for weeks! |

  defiant Garbage in, garbage out MVM join:2000-09-04 Monroe, MI | You should be routed Davison, then onto Bay City.
Just for the record, I'm experiencing slow speeds during the evening as well. Latency doesn't seem to be too bad though. |

@charter.com
| It's now about 8am and my speeds are great:
running 10s outbound test (client to server) . . . . . 1.04Mb/s running 10s inbound test (server to client) . . . . . . 10.33Mb/s
So if at night it drops by 90%, would that indicate that charter oversold a node? and if so, how can we pin them down to fix this issue? |

BTW... Time is now 6:25 and speeds are back to the following:
