Anyone Here Have An Interest In A Ham Radio Forum??

Just thought I would float the idea,
I seem to find lots of other Hams around the various other forums, but there is no direct topic Ham Radio Forum.

I make the case that:

Morse Code/CW = Digital
Radio= 1G Broadband Wireless

There is more to Ham Radio than the ARRL might have us believe.

Hams have been been communicating around the world since before you could reliably make a telephone call across the country,
and have been bouncing signals off of the moon before modern satellite broadband communication became possible.

It would be nice to have an official BBR watercooler for Ham's, and others interested in the hobby, to discuss technical issues, swap war stories, provide tech support,
or if only to schedule a simple QSO some evening on 75m.

This should be able to cover everything from High Speed Multi Media(HSMM), to Emergency communications, to even casual Shortwave listening.

Suggestions and input, positive or negative, are welcome.

Thanks, George/KA3SGM

Thanks, I didn't find the older thread on this from before, but I see it is now to old to respond to anyway.

Any renewed interest???

I'll have to start IM'ing those that were interested earlier in the year.

Not enough traffic/interest to warrant a forum.

I think it would be a great addition. For those not familiar with amateur radio there are many aspects of it that do involve the Internet such as APRS, Echolink, and more.

The number of hams here is probably much larger then one might realize. It is a geeky type of hobby.

As noted, this suggestion has been offered before, but it's true that amateur radio has become more and more intertwined with the internet, and the idea probably has more merit now, especially with dslr having an electronics forum.

Thank you sir, might I ask hams on BBR to mention this idea to other hams they know on BBR.

I have spoken to many, but I don't know everyone.

Please pass along the word.

Thanks!

If the console and PC gamers and other groups like FAH and SETI can have their own forum, why not one for Amateur Radio?
Saying there's not enough interest doesn't hold water.
