ive got the 8 meg service, lithia springs GA
i did a line test:
»/linequality/nil/2304720
the only things that i have changed to my network is i installed two linksys web cameras, the ones you control remotely. they are not active but have an ip and i can log into them so i dont see them causing any problems to the network when they are just idle.......?
what happens is some websites do not load. i have tried a couple of speak easy tests and the upstream test would just hang.. the needle would jump up and measure but after some seconds the needle just slowly comes back down to almost nothing and that part of the test never finishes. the upload speed is, i guess OK.. 6Meg or so but those upload tests never got up to 7 or 8. i used the atlanta and NY tests. both same download speeds but both upload speeds just hang..
i have the old school linksys modem, the one comcast use to give out, i purchased this modem myself from a store and have had it for about 4 years... maybe i should invest in a newer modem?
anyway, if one of you would be so kind as to look at my line test to see if something could be causing my issue i would be happy. i saw a couple things that failed so maybe that could be the issue? |

What happens if you remove them from the network?

| i have not had a chance to do that but i will today when i get in. ill just unplug the power to them.
is there any test i should do before and after to see if the cameras on or off the network made any difference?
i think its the upstream thats the issue. i have vonage, i have the linksys 802.11n router. i subscribe to howard tv and that works fine. all cable channels work (i have every channel comcastic offers) i have 3 3416 stb's. the ped is right in my yard. home run direct to cable modem.
since i have an old modem, would upgrading to a later modem help? |
