R0CKYTSI RockyPremium,VIP join:2005-05-19 Chatham, ON 2 edits | Solution for Bandwidth/Unlimited... and better Premium too! Alright gang,
We've found what we believe is the best scenario for everything going forward....
**************************************************** ****************************************************
ON/QC/AB/BC: Premium Service... When: Effective NOW!
Bulk (must Pre-pay): $10/100GB Overage Fees/no-bulk: $0.25/GB (that's right... not a typo)
****************************************************
ON/QC: Unlimited Service... When: Effective Jan 1st, 2008
Monthly Rate: $39.95/month Note: Price based on a maximum 5-6Meg speed profiles and will be adapted for higher speeds when they arrive.
**************************************************** ****************************************************
When we split off the unlimited only users, we saw an average of 86.9GB for October where 14% were above 200GB.
Pulling averages and allowing for growth while trying to find a way to deal with the unlimited service... This just seemed as the most sensible way to go!
We were going to investigate things in the future but realised, no sense.... It's a pretty straight forward math game. The unlimited is staying alive as we said we'd try and deliver, and the premium just got better!
This should allow for protecting against the introduction of new speeds. We plan to scrutinize accounts above 300GB to ensure they aren't using speeds above 6Meg... Should they be, we will charge out at $0.25/GB above 100GB.
Enjoy!
Rocky
**************************************************** **************************************************** EDIT: Capped Amount: 200GB (formerly 100GB)... further into these discussions to bridge gaps... see within for discussions. **************************************************** **************************************************** -- TSI Rocky - TekSavvy Solutions Inc. |

 | Rocky, there has been a lot of confusion lately that even if someone is customer of TechSavvy because you guys interact with Bell, Bell can still throttle, or cut people off from their databases for downloading too much. Can you clear it up? |
|
 | reply to R0CKY Rocky, all this seems reasonable, big changes ahead... Just wondering if we'd get notified via Teksavvy email, phone, Teksavvy website? BTW, does the referral credits still applies? I've got to find more people to sign-up to break even.... 39.95$ down to 29.95$
Thanks..... |

Can you clear it up? Bell currently has the ability to cut DSL service on users that are deemed abusers on their Sympatico network... These users would be prevented from getting DSL through a Bell Wholesaler should Bell choose.
Bell can however not throttle us... They can only set profile sync speeds.

The only thing changing is to make both unlimited and Premium viable solutions and an option for all flavour of users!

| reply to R0CKY Question...
I just signed a family member up for Unlimited (last week) now Im pretty sure they wont even come close to using 100gb probably not even 50gb/month but are they auto switched over to the new price of $39.95? Or how does it work.
Or do I have to call in for them and get it changed to Premium now to keep the 29.95 price?
Thanks -- Computer: Intel Quad Core, 2gb OCZ DDr2, 2x Plextor Burners, Corsair 620psu, Antec 900Case, 5mb DSL from teksavvy

 | reply to R0CKY I don't understand what you've written, Rocky! What changes does this actually bring to my Premium bill? I'm paying $29 a month now and never go over 100GB. Will that change? |

As for new changes... We're just about setup to have Internap transit added to the mix! Very high performance!

We haven't quite decided on this one just yet as we're waiting on a ruling from Bell to see what their official stance will be. We know their unofficial one but that's not to say it will be....
This one will be made official shortly I'm sure.

That would avoid some potentially nasty surprises.
And yes, someone who got surprised regularly should be moved to Unlimited and/or "scrutinized" if they go beyond 300GB, etc.
P.S. By "must Pre-pay" do you mean that the subscriber must authorize a pre-payment every month in advance of the coming month or can they simply add $10 (or $20, etc.) to their standard monthly charge? The former seems like a real hassle for both you and us. |

Oct 2007 86GB I'd damn close to that avg. Anyways....
I am on unlimted, with a 2.5mbit profile on interleave because I never needed anything else because I can't get any better stats then what I have now.
Will my $29 a month automaticly go upto $39 a month come Jan 2008?
I have 1 static IP on the pppoe plus the pool of 8. If I switch to premium will I need to get new IPs? -- COME ON OVER TO THE NEW »TekSavvy FORUM Un-Official Teksavvy Customer Chatroom »dslrchat.dyndns.org --- Anything I say in the forums are my own thoughts and I do not work for any company in whos forums I may post. |

Someone using a 16Meg connection could make a huge mess.
The pre-payment statement is to buy your blocks ahead of time, so if you expect to use 200GB then buy an extra block of 100GB at $10. -- TSI Rocky - TekSavvy Solutions Inc. |

Yeah, the rate would automatically be bumped to $39.95 in the new year.
The switch from Unlimited to Premium would unfortunately require a change of IP yes. -- TSI Rocky - TekSavvy Solutions Inc. |
