I plan on mounting in my attic (2 story house on a hill) and see if I can get the signal strength into the -80db's consistantly.
anon : pings are not stable. I play WoW, and WoW, in particular, seems to hate Mobile Broadband. That is why we're getting and ISDN line to supplement our Mobile broadband card - MB for high-bandwidth needs, ISDN for low-latency needs.

mark42 : Got the card and Linksys mobile router. All set up. Get varying resulsts, but gennerally download speeds are 800-1200Kbps and upload are 200-500Kbps.
mark42 : I went ahead and ordered the Sprint Mobile Broadband service and mobile router.
pkranger63 : I was in your shoes about 6 months ago. I switched from ISDN to sprint mobile and have been very pleased to far. I average download speed of 1100kbps and upload of 400kbps. Ping times are not on par with ISDN however. On some game servers I can get a 110ms ping but this will fluctuate. I can play WOW and other mmorpgs just fine. It has also proved to be very reliable so far. Hope this helps.

Squidii : I have an aircard 875 from ATT ( cingular ) and I classify it like satellite. You are not really on the internet, although, you can look at some webpages and stuff.

If you have good HSPDA signal ( which I do in town, but not at my house ), you can manage to get some bandwidth ( whatever they advertise, I don't remember what it was specifically, 1.5-3mb down ), but the connection is very jittery and bursty. Sometimes you click on a webpage and it hangs, click on it again and the it loads instantaneously. Ping tests revealed 100-150ms, with spikes up to 1000ms, and some varying amount of packet loss.

In short. Can't play games, you can use it for VNC/RDP, you can use it for vpn access to file at work. Trying to ssh/telnet over it sucks.
