| [Help Me] DWL-G122 Wireless USB Adapter clashing with other USB
My DWL-G122 Wireless USB Adapter has been acting up for a couple of months. Very slow and weak signals, and often disconnecting. I usually can get the connection back by clicking "Repair". Then a just last week, I noticed that when ever I plug in another USB device ie, my external harddrive or my camera into another USB port, the wireless adapter will fail to work. It seems to freeze because it's unresponsive when I "repair" it or try to end it's process.
So I reformatted the computer, but the problem remains.
I have 6 USB ports on my PC. The wireless adapter has always been plugged at the back, and my external harddrive and other devices I plug and play from the front. I explored thru the Device Manager in Control Panel, and I find that both devices are attached to the same USB Root Hub. It shows that the wireless adapter is using 300mA, and if I plug in my harddrive... it shows up right under it using 2mA.
I don't know if this is what's supposed to happen... I changed around where I plug the devices in, and it's still looks the same in Device Manager and they still behave the same way. So far, the harddrive will continue to work, and then the wireless adapter will cease to work completely. I can't even close and reopen the process. It's stuck.
Can anyone tell me what's going on??? Any solutions??? Thanks. |
