»docs.info.apple.com/article.html···m=306894

I was wondering what was going on with my old Dual 1.8GHz G5.

Looks like a nice feature for your G5, now if I could only get that same feature on my MacBook Pro...

Funny that the card in my Dual-Core 2.3 G5 (a GeForce 6600) isn't on the 'official' list of Core Image cards, but it is indeed supported.

This card blows. It's a piece of CRAP that should've never been allowed out the door. Performance sucks ass.

The Radeon 9800 in my 2.5-year-older dual 2.0 G5 is better. That's ridiculous.

</rant>

(and yes, that's my rant about teh vedeo card!!11!! I really couldn't care less, EXCEPT for Aperture. It bites the big one with the 6600 card.) In fact, it's so bad that it got dropped from the recommended list for Aperture hardware.. but again, the 9800 in the older machine is on the list.

I have the same Radeon 9800 in my G5, it's now over 3 years old and it's going strong, WoW does fine on it .

Just installed Leopard here at work on an iMac G5 (original revision). I noticed the solid menu bar right away. I love it. How do I sign up for it on my MacBook and MacBook Pro?

Edit the top 21 pixels of your wallpaper to RGB 243/243/243. Stupid, but it works. It will have a grayish colour like in Tiger. Or to anything you like.

Excactly! I would definitely consider it "a feature, not a bug"!! Leopard has some really bone-headed UI decisions. Transparent menu bar being just one of them.

I've used a solid color background for awhile, but if I weren't before, the menu bar would have driven me to it.

Hopefully the s-curve goes out the door. I already altered my dock to get it to be s-curve free.

This has to mean that it's only a terminal command away from getting a solid menu bar...correct? I bet Apple finally see's the light and enables a toggle in 10.5.1 or 10.5.2

No there are functions missing in that card. Who knows how they're dealing with that in code.

I remember those days. I had a 7500/100. I put a 125MHz 604 in it and then a 400MHz G3 upgrade. I also changed the video card to a (don't laugh, this was a long time ago) Rage 128! I did some video stuff with it, and put a miro card for ripping video and a SCSI card in to handle a faster 9GB! hard drive. That machine was sweet.

The really ironic part was that I replaced it with a Cube!
