Just received this email from Magicjack:

"As most of you know,we are changing a number of things,to make it easier for potential customers to buy a magicJack and to support our existing loyal base.

We have now made chat a one on one experience.

We are changing the Forum for technical problem solving only.Potential customers can now receive the proper care they need at Sales chat.

The forum is just too unwieldy now and we will be hiring a professional monitor soon in addition to our very helpful volunteers.

Most subjects do not apply anymore,as the service has changed dramtically since we started this forum.

I encourage everybody to keep the forum updated with relevant topics and make this into a place where people in need can get the proper help.

We will be much more rewarding of giving out Beta Jacks for our loyal posters and readers to help one another.

The forum will also be changed dramatically again post BETA and there will be a major surprise enhancement in the February timeframe.

Please send any comments to me at Dan.Borislow@magicjack.com.I have scoured the forum for good ideas and enhancements and we hear you. Please send them directly to me as well.

Thank You

Your Inventor

Dan"

What a joke. Wiping the whole freakin forums while people still had issues to resolve? It's bullshit. They couldn't deal with the negative topics about their shitty customer service and faulty product. Screw 'em.

I can't believe they deleted all the information off of the forums either. There was some very good information there and like you mentioned still people with open issues.

Hi all I'm AlaninKY in the magicJack Forum. I'm disappointed everything was wiped away because there were some good threads worth keeping. Just wiping everything away is over kill in my opinion.

I love my three magicJacks. When all the bugs are worked out, I believe the Company can be a huge success.

I believe MagicHack has done a great job of telling the magicJack staff about the security problems with magicJack. Hopefully his help will make magicJack secure and a great product.

This is an interesting development. I, for one have NOT seen any e-mail from magicjack relating to the forum or anything else for that matter.

This thread says NOTHING NEW, so why "spread the word"?

Brain dead. really.

The lame brains at MagicJack decided to dump all the bad crap people had posted about their crappy product's flaws and problems.

So what?

Another Well Thought Out Policy Decision

I have to agree with the other posters. There was a lot of good information available. I tend to agree that they did not want the recent comments about their poor performance as of late to be made public.

More promises of improvements, little in the way of action. I guess we should all get together here on a regular basis.

Re: MagicJack in Trouble? Forum is locked down

Just received the e-mail.... Wheee. As to the "February timeframe" mentioned in the e-mail that is an event that is to occur post BETA and is listed as "a major surprise". Dose not sound like any slippage of the area codes and portals as such.

locking the forums is the worst thing they could have done. The help I received was of more use than the "official" help.
I enjoyed browsing your blog, and was actually able to place some calls through my google account using the mj hardware using the data you linked to there. THANKS!

There is very useful information on the MJ Forum that is locked now. It is all lost for ever. I received more help from the forum than from the support. I have to get used to this new set up. May be we could use this as our new forum and continue to discuss our problems and solutions. I hope MJ as a product will continue.

I am willing to cut management some slack here and hope that they are culling through the mass of posts and retaining the useful stuff. It is all definitely archived, so it is not gone to the big bit bucket in the sky. It would be a shame to render it unavailable to future readers however.

Once the forum is unlocked I would expect things will proceed much as before.

Unfortunately, I am as much out of the loop as everyone else.

All I have to go on here is my trusty crystal ball and it is a little cloudy.

perhaps they are afraid of all the negative posts they are gonna get when the portal isnt ready on the 15th.... after the portal is ready they will reopen the forum after everyones frustration has subsided....

just a hypothesis =)

I would think that if the servers stay up over this weekend without a problem then there should be no technical reason not to go forward with the portal on the 15th as announced. All we have to do is watch through the weekend.

Just another sad example of this company taking yet another step backward, aka the wrong direction.

I think they deleted because of all of the massive negative posts that was being left on the board. The forum was originally placed there to be a tech support for members. It was turned into a Magicjack bash board. There were very few members who didn't belittle the product and could ran off potential customers. As OldNuc said i'm pretty sure the relevant material will be brought back later on. It was just that even amidst the relevant posts, somewhere within that topic was some negative press. Problems should have been presented with only words of the problem, not bashing the company while doing it. It didn't benefit anything or anyone making magicjack seem like the worse company ever.

I agree that they didn't do a lot of things right but us Beta members should have handled it better and spoke only of the problems with our magicjacks. Lets see if things get better now and we get our forum back.

It was deleted because this company will do anything to avoid bad press.

Were those forums not behind some type of ID/password set up so they weren't generally available to prospective customers?
