Mr. Borislow
Please keep the faith in your product, I truly love it! Yes, I have had some issues with my magicJack but for the price, and knowing that it was in 'beta' - I am not going to complain. Anyway...it usually 'rights' itself without me doing much of anything (not that I would know what to do, I'm not a techie ). |

I understand what you are saying. I was an early adopter of VOIP and went through some trying times with it. I think by using the term "forecast date" tends to downplay the fact that what most of us early adopters were told there would be extra features, more telephone numbers in most major cities, a webportal, ability to switch your phone number, etc. etc. by specific periods in time - all of which have now passed.
What I was saying in my original post was basically this:
Quit coming up with doubletalk and tell us what you are going to do, and when you are going to do it. If for some reason your need additional time tell us so. What is so hard about that? After all, they are the ones making the pitch, they are the ones selling a product full of promises I am just the consumer waiting for them to deliver what they promised. How about the "follow me" feature? They make it sound like it's already available on the sales site. Then before they conveniently shut down their boards under FAQ they had a post back in April saying that feature would be available "SOON."
Hmmm, there's that MJ buzzword again - SOON.
I think that the product has potential but MJ needs to be honest with and take care of it's customer base. Stop telling me how the inventor is a JD Power awards winner and start acting like a JD Power Award winner.
FWIW I am not giving up hope on them, Pissed - yes and I'am not the only one out here. I want them to be successful and I want to stay as a customer but I don't like the runaround and broken promises. |

Dear Mr.Dan Borislow - we are good customers. We are with you througout the Beta phase and after that too. But please stop these techniques like closing the old forum, changing things overnight(without prior notice) and making false promises. Even if you feel the BETA should go on for another year, we are with you.
Please make a good and solid product, but be open and honest. |

An unofficial MagicJack forurm is now up and running for any MJ users with questions or need support with the product. A lot of the old members of the original forurm have signed up already. I encourage all MagicJack users to sign up.

1 edit | reply to Dan Borislow Re: MagicJack will be out of BETA soon-New Forum
said by Dan Borislow :
The magicJack has evolved and been improved upon over the over the last 8 months and most of the posts simply did not apply anymore and were quite confusing for readers of the forum. We hope the new forum will be more helpful for customers with technical questions. HAHA! Who are you trying to kid Dan? Exactly which posts were SOOOO confusing to new users that you needed to wipe the whole freakin forum? Don't insult our intelligence. You don't wipe an entire forum because of a few misleading posts, unless of course you are trying to hide the many negative posts regarding the support and performance of your product.
I've figured it out. Dan will keep that forum locked until us old timers fade away and no longer come around to criticise his product. As the forum was being deleted, the forum admin did make new forum sections... that is until he saw that people were starting to make critical posts about the forum deletions. As soon as the admin saw that, those new posts were deleted and the forum was locked again and have remained so ever since.
Hiding forums, closing the chatroom and now locking the forum to hide the MANY negative posts about Magic Jack... Way to go Dan. Instead of using the criticism to better your product in a timely manner, you've just isolated a huge portion of talented people that were willing to give support to your customers for free. Talk about boneheaded moves... |

| hey Horsep0wer! Be nice. If you want DB to come back to this forum to participate and hear your issues, you should tone down the sarcasm and venom. If you want to scare him away so that he never gets to hear your point of view, just keep calling him a dumbass. He will make his numbers with or without this forum -- if you want to be heard here, then don't give him reasons not to visit. -- "Teleblend has an agreement with the Assignee to solicit and support former SunRocket customers." |

| Horsep0wer did tell the truth. I was there in the Forum when the total lock down happened and it was a classless move by the magicJack higher ups. Now, I do agree Horsep0wer could of showed more polish and not be so blunt in how he wrote his post. -- low cost and fast speed is what customers want in broadband |

2 edits | reply to RockyBB What I posted was mild. I went from an avid defender of his product to one who is now highly critical of it by no fault of my own. I was given these reasons. I call things as I see it... blunt or not, sarcastic or not. That is the way I feel. If Dan doesn't come back into this forum because of what I posted, it's further proof that the man cannot take criticism and learn from it. What he has done with the forums and chat is highly suspicious. I hope potential new customers read this thread and think twice about purchasing a product that has gone from a little VOLUNTEER support to practically nothing at all now.
Frankly, I don't give a rat's ass if he comes back or not. Besides, what kind of man would not even register his nick on this site to back up his product? I'm sick of hearing the multitude of lame excuses about a rather large amount of things with MJ and am just about convinced that this thing is a sham. Good luck and good riddance. |

And I'm not doubting your frustration. But it is likely the case that others could benefit from MJ management participation here. -- "Teleblend has an agreement with the Assignee to solicit and support former SunRocket customers." |

| My MagicJack stopped working last night. Keeps telling me it must be installed in a USB port. Well what other kind of port could I possibly install it in? It's already in a USB port, it was working fine. I tried it this morning on two different machines, both give the same error message.
So I went to the 'live chat': Glenn: Please contact support here: Glenn: »support.magicjack.com/magicfix/magicFix.html Glenn: please go to 48 hours at the botom (sic) of the page and leave a message. they will get back to you asap
If you go to that page, on the bottom there is a link for 48 as he states, but that gives you a 404, not found link, etc.
I tried to ask the agent for a phone number, email address, or something, but after a while, he just stopped chatting with me!
So luckily I purchased this with PayPal, and I just submitted a dispute with them. They do have a phone number on PayPal, and I called that number and a man answered and told me he didn't know anything about Magicjack! |

So true. I hope that the real forum comes back up, minus the [excessive] complaining and multi-username members. magicJack has a lot of potential. I look very forward to seeing it brought to fruition.
Some dolt actually posted as me in the "new" forums. Well, close anyway. They got the "P" wrong. Heh
There are some good, helpful people at the new forum though. AlaninKY, Stewart, etc. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Edit:
Thanks to whoever for removing that user (pinan). I have now registered there as Pinan. |

1 edit | Any company worth their salt has to take the good and the bad. A company that walks away, or perhaps runs away is a company that will soon cease to exist.
EDIT: In response to the live chat, I received an email from Dan Borislow. Since his email is not from the magicjack domain, I would rather not post it publicly. He replied and forwarded my issues to a couple of other people, and they will be replacing my MagicJack. So hopefully this will be solved soon.
They did admit the link to the 48 hour support is broken, and I suggested they add either an email link or some type of support on their site other than the 'live chat'. |

Tech Chat Works
I, too, am disappointed in the forum outcome.
However, I used the new Technical Chat today with great results. Got right through and got the help I needed and straight answers - even to questions on stuff that does not work (like the Outlook plug-in).
And my MJ works great, so I can wait for the feature set.
However, the forum should still be unfrozen.

The potential benefits to MagicJack outweigh the forum upkeep costs. |
