Wow, I did not even know that Broadvox Direct is still alive.
Today and last night notwithstanding, BVX is very much alive and kicking. And at $19.99/month (grandfathered price) and a rock-steady dial tone I'm quite happy with it.

It's just days like today when things go wrong and I'm left to hope someone is working on the problem that I wish there was a bit better support system in place.
