[POLL] Audio Editors - 2008 Member Choice

Welcome to the 2008 Member Choice software polls, and thank you for taking the time to vote!

This portion of the polls deals with software used to edit audio files. This is quite a broad category, as the products listed may be used for creation, mixing, enhancement, and/or conversion of audio files. Some products do it all, some focus mostly on a specific type of task to be performed. Because of this, you are encouraged to select any of your favorite programs that you use to work with audio files.

Which audio editing programs are your favorites?
(You may choose more than one.)
Audacity 69 (43.1%)
(none) 20 (12.5%)
GarageBand '08 14 (8.7%)

Nero 8 WaveEditor 7 (4.3%)
Sound Forge 9 6 (3.7%)

Thanks for the great poll, Kyle

... although I have played around with Roxio, Audacity is it for me - does all I need.

I occasionally use Audacity, and also mpTrim with mp3's (not sure if that counts).

Thanks for the poll, Kylemaul See Profile!

Besides Audacity and Mp3DirectCut (and a few rippers and converters), the tool I use most of all is Mp3Gain - I couldn't do without it. With over 60 Gb of music in this box it's essential that there's some sort of consistency to the volume levels.

Great Poll Kyle!

I rarely edit audio files, and I do own Sony VAIOs(pre-installed software)... plus others.

In no particular order:
SoundForge
Audacity
Roxio
SonicStage Mastering Studio
etc...

That GarageBand looks interesting. Too bad it's Mac only.

Audacity and Nero here.

Great Poll Kylemaul See Profile!

Audacity here....although I don't use it much these days.
And yes, have also used GarageBand before (on my son's Mac), and it's pretty cool.

Voted Audacity but also use "SpectroGram" ver. 5.0 which was the last free version for making sonograms. It can still be found...search for gram50.zip.

Thanks for the poll!

I use Audacity, and a useful little program called Jazzware++ for midi files.
