Speed caps for wavebroad band? Port Orchard, WA area

Ok, after moving into our new house and reconnecting cable, I have been noticing speed issues with wavebroadband.

I just recently found this out...

Additionally you may be exceeding your daily bandwidth usage allowed. Customers who experience an issue with large fluctuations in download speed over a 24 period have exceeded a 3GB of bandwidth usage for that day. For example, a high speed user will see their download speed go from 6 MB to 256 KB. The cap is at 256 KB. The bandwidth usage meter resets at 3 am.

Now, that really ticks me off. If you have one of the 10mb accounts, using at full speed and you will be cut off within 2-4 hours.

I could not find anything on there website about this new policy.

Time to switch to qwest. The account rep said they dont rate cap on the dsl lines.

I pay for 10mb/1.5. I'm only getting half of what I pay for.
Where did you get that cap info?

I buy games and watch movies
online that I pay for. I also download games on Xbox live as well as play multi-player games. One Game download from EA or Steam is about twice 3gb or more. The movies stream so I'm not sure. I also record music and send wav files to my band mates occasionally. That being said, I don't do all of that everyday. Some days I don't even use my internet, (I work 10hr days) but on the days I do, I better not get 256k! It's bad enough I get only half my speed. We need PROGRESS! It's like running backwards FFS! That reminds me I need to make some updates to my review, because I haven't been getting the level of service I pay extra for.

Yeah, my Qwest account never changes. My speed is the same, day or nite. I've downloaded many gigs in a day and no change. It's nice not fighting with everyone else on a node.

Ive actually called and complained before i knew i was being throttled and the tech there told me it was a 1.5GB limit within a 24/hr period or else im throttled to 1/4 my purchased speed.

I just got home. I can't even get the 10Mb I'm paying for.
Time to get a scum bag lawyer to file a class action lawsuit. We might all get 3 bucks back, but it will cost Wave money. It could backfire though . . . They could raise rates or go bankrupt. We could get it even worse with another company (Charter . . .Shudders at the thought).

Yeah, that will really solve our problems. What pisses me off is people like you that think the solution is to file a lawsuit. What the hell! Why don't you just move to DSL and stop giving them your money if you don't like the service!

You know what they say: The grass is always greener on the other side.

Switching to DSL is one way to go I may, I may not. It's my choice. I've been there. It's not much greener due to distance. I could tell you "Why don't you just move to Uranus if you don't like my opinion and stop replying to my posts", but that would be ridiculous.
"What pisses me off is people like you that think the solution is to sit quiet and do nothing". Does the above statement pretty much sum you up in a nut shell?. Probably not. I'm well within my rights here to complain about poor service, or make suggestion on how to overcome those issues.
If you actually comprehend what I wrote. It didn't sound like a very good idea, did it? So for now I'll stay with with Wave. Am I happy about it? Not completely. Should I complain? Hell Yes! If this bandwidth throttling starts to make my service even worse, I'll probably change. THJ OVER!

You know more than Wave techs? Possibly, but please get yourself a rudimentary grasp of grammar, spelling and punctuation first. You come across as if you're fresh off the boat.

Hey light bulb. Psst, be very careful posting from a local navy.mil domain if you're going to rant about racism and encourage somebody to kill them self. Just sayin'.

Not sure if this is anything, but since the "upgrade" letter my speed tests max out at 10000 kb/s now.

Hopefully they will get everything balanced out so everyone gets reliable speeds.
