And that is exactly why it boggles my mind that Microsoft hasn't already added support. It would help sell the damn thing.
Despite what anyone claims, pirated material and porn are the top driving forces in people paying for faster and faster internet connections. You don't need, and simply can't justify the cost of a 7000/1000 internet connection for web browsing and email. It's for the content downloaded.

Add Divx/XVid (and in my opinion h.264) support to the XBox and Playstation, and watch them start flying off the shelf.

And to the issue of TVersity and others like it, yes it works, but you are still transcoding the content. I've played with just about every piece of software out there, and I can still tell the difference in video quality. Thats after you get past needing a decent enough host PC to actually do the transcoding.

I have been using XBMC for years now, the only thing it cant do is HiDef stuff, which is mostly TV shows off Discovery & PBS. It also cant do .TS/.TP files. I have a HTPC (Dual Core AMD system) running Media Portal, but its just not the same as XBMC. I would really like to replace it with a better system.
