Nothing we've seen come through here has ever been total junk. Each brand has had their share of flaky equipment. I'd guess the most used here would be the Westell 327w and the Actiontec GT-704, at about 70/30 to the Westell. Those are the models Verizon provides which is why they are used the most. There are a few who use 3rd party equipment, but not a lot that we hear from. Anything from any of the bigger names out there should be ok. There is no Top Dog with them.

I want one that is reliable and works with Verizon. That is all I know. I know there are different brands, but I don't know anything about them. Car brands I know. Computer hardware brands I do not. To put it in car brand terms, I am looking for a Toyota, not a Yugo. I want good quality, good reliability and good price. I really don't know anything about this stuff, that's why I am here.

Are there any you had in mind? Westell 327w, Actiontec GT-704, some of the Zoom offerings to name a few.

I am trying to set up a wireless network at home. I want to use a gateway instead of a modem and seperate wireless router.
I know NOTHING about what equipment is good, what is bad.

Can you point me in the right direction. If you are recommending 1 piece of hardware over another, please tell me why (so I can understand since I know nothing going in).

Thanks!
Steve
