1 edit | reply to La Luna Avast Free on XP (Desktop) and Vista (laptop). Have used McAfee, Norton, CA, Antivir and AVG. Prefer Avast due to ease of and frequency of updates and any impact on the operating systems seems to be minimal...never been scored on while using it either.

| reply to La Luna La Luna, this poll is a great assist to anyone wondering which AV program to purchase.
When I switched to Vista, I used Avira PE. When the Zone Alarm Security Suite for Vista became available, I switched over to it since I still had a remaining license, and moved the Avira software to my daughter's PC. |

| reply to La Luna I had been using TM PC-cillin Internet Security for the past 18 Months with great satisfaction. Recently started using Verizon FiOS, and after a month and a half of unsuccessful attempts at getting FiOS to work properly, I discovered that it was not playing nice with my TM PC-cillin, so it had to go.
I used the Members Choice 2007 and 2008 to find a replacement and have been testing Avast with great satisfaction. Looks like a 'keeper'.
Many thanks to mers2 for last year, and La Luna for this 2008 Poll. Great job done by both.

None.
Used AVG in the past, and it is still installed on my wife's machine. But I use nothing on my main rig nor on my laptop. |

| reply to La Luna Thanks for the poll, La Luna .
My husband and I have been using AVG Free for probably about 8 years, I think. It has always done what I needed it to do. Voted for both AntiVir and AVG. On my main machine, I'm currently using AntiVir PE Premium under a free six month licence.
On my laptop and on other machines, I use AVG free.
