·RoadRunner Cable
4 edits | How about the tel-cos. Merging and buying each other out all the time eventually making only a few providers. Is the FCC worried about that. NOOOOOOOO. The tel- cos give piles and piles of money to the FCC in lobbing while the cable cos provide only "a fraction" of the tel- co money with lobbying. Do you think the FCC cares about the tel-cos getting too big. I highly doupt it.
In other words. The one with the most money to spend lobbying (aka: bribing) the FCC wins.
The Tel-cos are loosing more and more POT lines to people switching to cable VOIP. So they are worried about that. So of course they are going to "convince" the FCC to make changes to the cable industry in hope that it will curb cable VOIP.
While this treads away from the topic, we all know the real truth. The tel- cos are scared. -- "Flashing Red envelopes freak me out." |

 | Who knew the Telco's could lobby the FCC into going back 20 years to add a law. |

If I want cable I have ONE choice. If I want a "landline" phone I have several choices. |

Not here. Not in many places. You are lucky to have a tel-co choice. The choices (compitition) here are brought on by VOIP companies that use.... CABLE! But, (for example) ATT keeps buying other "smaller" companies (Bell South) and keeps gettiing bigger and bigger. Why isn't the FCC after them for getting too big? Cable VOIP it sky rocketing, while the bread and butter of the tel-co is dwindling. They are scared. Their primary revinue (POT) is going away. -- "Flashing Red envelopes freak me out." |

It was well in the works that cable wanted into phone long ago.. phone knew this... so, I'd say this was well thought out 20 years ago. -- "Complaining is the least path of resistance for the self-serving, the lazy, and Im told its a womans prerogative..." |
