Norton and SpywareBlaster updates causing FP (likely)

After updating SWB and Norton today, Norton AV quickscan identified Adware.SystemProcess. I found this thread:
»answers.yahoo.com/question/index···7AAh1WXb

Scroll a little more than half way down page to etc comments.

I opened up my SWB after reading his comments and found 6 internet explorer protections disabled.

Hope this FP is fixed. I'll wait awhile before enabling all protection with SWB.

No I don't have CCleaner. I'm wondering if that poster was running SWB?

Are any of those registry entries disabled now in SpywareBlaster have domain names that match those in the detailed writeup here?

Scroll down to 'Internet Settings' entries

Thanks for checking.
That's probably why you were flagged by Norton and why most likely it's a FP -
My Symantec contact probably won't see the message until early Monday but he will get this over to the appropriate person for review

Interesting amy I just checked my spyware blaster and those files were unchecked in mine.So does this mean that it was SWB that was flagged and not CCleaner.

Or is it FP with an update that is the question?

For me the new update with norton this weekend seems to not like other spyware programs. That Adware.SystemProcess is being detected by norton when ever I set Spybot - Search & Destroy to Immunize a 100%. set that to a 100 and scan with the so called quick scan in norton. it will detect that. Then go back to Spybot - Search & Destroy and it's at 30% not being protected.

I can scan my system all day with any scanner and it will not find anything but set Spybot to 100% and bag norton will go off. BTW, im not running CCleaner

@jarrycanada... experiencing exactly the same with NAV and S&D now since the last NAV-update yesterday. I'll guess it's (yet another) false warning from NAV.

Seems like Norton and Spybot - Search & Destroy are at it again. this isn't the first time that Norton has gone after Search & Destroy. if anything it's making me question why I keep buying that dam norton. I should know better by now. I would say it's a false detection.

You my man have hit the nail on the head, that is exactly what is going on.As soon as I immunize again with SP then run a quick scan with NIS it shows up again. And than the setting's in SP are once again changed.

Well hopefully this will be corrected soon amy has submitted the info to them.

There are Spyware Blaster updates? I just tried to update and was told I was up to date. I haven't updated recently. I thought the latest update was two weeks ago.

OK..thanks. That's the version I had. I was afraid maybe something was wrong with updating Spyware Blaster.

Spyware Blaster is not the culprit here Norton is not playing nice with other spyware apps again.
