I have an aircard 875 from ATT ( cingular ) and I classify it like satellite. You are not really on the internet, although, you can look at some webpages and stuff.
If you have good HSPDA signal ( which I do in town, but not at my house ), you can manage to get some bandwidth ( whatever they advertise, I don't remember what it was specifically, 1.5-3mb down ), but the connection is very jittery and bursty. Sometimes you click on a webpage and it hangs, click on it again and the it loads instantaneously. Ping tests revealed 100-150ms, with spikes up to 1000ms, and some varying amount of packet loss.
In short. Can't play games, you can use it for VNC/RDP, you can use it for vpn access to file at work. Trying to ssh/telnet over it sucks. |
