Actually, if you look at the financials going into the merger, NEXTEL was a much stronger company than Sprint was. The "tumor" at Sprint is Sprint telco-era management mentality.

Uh.... got any clue who Sprint's telco became??? I agree Sprint is a dying breed, and the wireless has been so for years as a result of giving anybody and everybody credit. I know people who ran up $1000 in debt with them and walked away. Do your research before you start making accusations. |

You are partially right. Nextel is a tumor now because it is a dead end technology. Sprint has also been unsuccessful in getting the iden customers over to the CDMA network. Instead the iden customers are leaving Sprint all together for better wireless carriers such as Verizon and AT&T. I truthfully believe it's too late for Sprint; and that they are now destined to be bought out by either a private equity firm or Comcast/Time Warner. |

I disagree. As always, I think people tend to forget about Sprints LD/Wireline backbone and the value it adds to the equation. I'm sure if you took LD out of the picture, access charges, etc.. would make it pretty much impossible for wireless to survive, long.  |
