I am currently using Bell sympatico high speed internet service, and thinking switch to Acanac,
should I use Acanac's modem or use my own dsl modem?

We recommend you use ours in order to be able to use our support. We do not provide support for other peoples hardware however there is nothing to it. If you know how to set your own pppoe username in your modem then you should be ok and you can use whatever dsl modem. you like..
